Happy Homemaker Monday

Sandra is hosting Happy Homemaker Monday and I'm joining her.

On my bedside table: The Bible. I have just finished reading The Shack, by William P. Young, and I loved it. I will soon have a post on that.

On my TV: Baby TV. No, I'm not watching it!!!
On the menu for tonight: Mashed potatoes with fish
On my To Do List: Ironing, Homeschooling, and from this week on, I also have a baby to take care of. No need to say that my daughter is very happy with that.
New Recipe I tried last week: Nothing new.
In the craft basket: I didn't do anything last week but I still have to finish that baby blanket.
Looking forward to: my DD returning from Sunday School Retreat. It hasn't started yet!!! Well, I can explain. It starts next Friday and goes until Sunday. I'm happy that DD is going (it's her second time) but I always miss her.
Homemaking Tip for this week: Can't think of anything.
Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other): I didn't get to read many blogs so I'll say my The Rose and the Thorn post, not because of what I've written, but because of the idea, which I think is great, and because of the conclusion we came to: that we are so blessed! We already knew that, of course, but sometimes, we just have to be reminded of it.
Favorite photo from last week:
Lesson learned the past few days: That every word has power and that I cannot keep on saying things like «I'm not very good at this», «I will never be able to do this», «I am not a very healthy person», etc.
On my Prayer List: Júnior and Cíntia, a brazilian couple that God has called to work full-time in our church in Alentejo. They have been preparing themselves for the last months and are moving there this week. I will miss them but I know that their work will be very important and I'm praying for God to help them.
Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses: Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

What kind of baby blanket are you making? A knitted or crocheted one? Or one made with fabric? I'm working on a patchwork baby quilt these days.

Fish sounds really good. We're land locked here so can't get good fresh fish. I'm going to have to break down and try some frozen fillets. I love baked fish with dill sauce!

Have a great week!

I love Happy Homemaker Monday and I love reading your list. It seems so homey to list what is going on for each of us.

What a great lesson learned, and it's SO true. Negativity brings on more negativity.

Love the photo and I completely understand what you feel about her going away for just a week, it's great but you miss them terribly.

Hugs,
Sandra
