Happy Homemaker Monday - July 27

It's a long time since I've done the Happy Homemaker Monday. But I'm back! Visit Sandra!
The weather in my neck of the woods: Sunny but not too hot.
One of my simple pleasures: Daydreaming.
On my bedside table: The Bible; Drawing Near - John Bevere
On my TV: I've just watched the news and then turned it off.
On the menu for tonight: Duck rice
On my To Do List: Clean the bathroom, clean the fridge and many other things.
New Recipe I tried last week: Nothing new.
In the craft basket: Nothing at all! I was so excited about knitting and crocheting and stopped doing it. I must start again.
Looking forward to: I really don't know!
Homemaking Tip for this week: I can't think of anything. Sorry!
Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other): I haven't read anything but I'm looking forward to doing it! Well, I've just found out something I'm looking forward to!
Favorite photo from last week: They're still on my camera but I'll post them later this week.
Lesson learned the past few days: That everyone deserves a second (third, fourth.........) opportunity. Isn't it what God does with us?
On my Prayer List: My brother Pedro, who is sooooo far away, and my grandmother, who fell thrice this last week and is so weak and sad.
Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses: «I can do everything through him who gives me strength.» Philippians 4:13

That's Life

Organization

“The trouble with organizing a thing is that pretty soon folks get to paying more attention to the organization than to what they're organized for.” Laura Ingalls Wilder
I do know what this means!!!!!!!!!

My new beach / A minha nova praia

Praia dos Coxos

Bushy Park

Today is one of those days when I don't want to do anything. Thanks God that the day is coming to an end. I just hope that tomorrow I will be feeling much better. And when I'm having one of those days, I tend to think about the past. And today I was thinking about the year I spent in England when I was 21 (that was a looooong time ago!!!). I loved being there, though not everything was fantastic. I missed my family terribly and I had a hard time with the little girl I had to take care of. But that was a long time ago! And now I just think about the wonderful experiences I had there. And one of them was the time I spent walking, cycling and reading in Bushy Park. If you don't know Bushy Park and want to know something about it, you can go here.
Hoje é um daqueles dias em que não me apetece fazer nada.Graças a Deus que o dia está a chegar ao fim. Espero já me sentir melhor amanhã.

Never say never

This is an old saying but it is absolutely true. But we often forget it is true and we keep on saying: I will never do/say this, I will never do/say that... And some time after saying this, you do/say that thing that you would never ever do or say. Now, don't tell me that this has never happened to you!!! Is it just me??? Well, I do have several examples and the most recent one is that, after having my driving license for fifteen years (!) and after having tried a couple of times to drive but with no success, early this year I said: «That's it! I've had enough! I will never be able to drive and I will never try again! And don't even talk to me again about driving!» And now I'm driving! And I'm even enjoying it! I could give you a lot of other examples. But, if this happens with good things, it also happens with not so good things. I've heard some Christians saying that they would never do this or that and they say it in such a way that you think that you're not a very good Christian. It would be wonderful if we could say that we will never sin again after we get saved. But that's not true. We don't become perfect on the same day we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. When we do it (truly), we want to walk with God every day. But we all make mistakes daily, and we need God's mercy every day, which the Bible tells us that is new every day.
«Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ JesusPhillipians 3:12-14

To blog or not to blog, that is the question!

Sometimes I want to quit blogging and lately I haven't been too much into blogging. But then, when I receive such nice comments from other bloggers and when I think about family (particulary my brother who is now working in Pakistan) and friends who are far away and like to come here for news, I decide that it is worth doing it.
Today, I'll just share some photos that we took last week. We had two ladies from England staying with us (you won't see them in the photos though) and we visited many beautiful places. We had a wonderful time together.
